DEPARTMENT OF PARASITOLOGY

​Function

The Department is in charge of implementation of the scientific studies on parasitology, parasitic diseases, and the parasitic disease control methods, provide special training courses on the same.

Specific duties

- Conduct researches on the parasites including (pathology, epidemiology, clinical diagnosis, treatment, etc.).

- Study and implement activities of parasitic prevention and control in the localities in the southern area of Vietnam.

- Research on environmental and social factors in relation with helminths infected status in human; monitor and evaluate the implementation of prevention and control activities of helminths, fungi, and protozoa in the southern area of Vietnam.

- Consult for Director in managing, guiding and making solutions for protozoa prevention - related issues.

- Provide training courses on parasitology, parasite diseases, and prevention methods for local medical staffs and universities (masters, PhD. degree).
